Grupo Vidanta

Grupo Vidanta is a resort developer in Mexico, specializing in the operation of new tourist destinations. It also owns and operates the Mar de Cortés International Airport and the Grupo Vidanta Foundation. The Group is headquartered in Guadalajara, Mexico and currently operates 20 resort brands in Mexico with over 10,000 employees.[1][2][3][4]

Founding

Daniel Chavez Moran founded the Group in 1974. In 2004, he stepped away from mnaging the Group to found Grupo Vidanta Foundation and focus on philanthropy. He is also the founder of Fundación Delia Moran A.C. In 2009 he was ranked 64th in the list of most important Mexican businessmen.[5][6][7]

Mar de Cortes International Airport

The Mar de Cortés International Airport, located in La Jolla de Cortés, near Puerto Peñasco in the state of Sonora, Mexico, was inaugurated by the Group on November 5, 2009,[8][9][10] It isThe airport's concrete runway is the fourth runway in Mexico to be built entirely with concrete provided by Cemex, [11] and the airport was awarded a Premio Obras Cemex in 2007.[12][13][14]

Philanthropy

In 2004, Grupo Vidanta founded Grupo Vidanta Foundation.[24] The Foundation has a stated goal to "promote culture and science", and concentrates on the fight against poverty and inequalit
